Green Aid: Medical Marijuana Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Box 172, 484 Lake Park Ave., Oakland, CA 94610; http://www.Green-Aid.com
This organization is behind the defense of Ed Rosenthal, who was charged with cultivation and distribution of marijuana. He was supplying medical marijuana plants to compassion groups who were providing marijuana to medical patients, which is legal under California state law, but illegal under federal law. He had been deputized by the city of Oakland to do this work, and was in compliance with city regulations. The U.S. Attorney’s office failed to get seven medical marijuana patients to testify against Rosenthal. For the full story, including trial transcripts, access the Web site.
